Adventure in Southern Peru

Colca Canyon: 2 days / 1 night

Day 1: Arequipa / Chivay
Transportation will start the pick up to begin our journey to one of the deepest canyons in the world, taking the road to Yura, skirting the snowy Chachani towards Pampa Cañahuas (National Reserve Aguas Blancas and Salinas) habitat of the beautiful South American camelid, the vicuna. In bofedales of tocra we can appreciate variety of migratory birds, including flamingos. Passage through the crater of an extinct volcano (Chucura). We will stop at a volcano’s viewpoint, which is also the highest road (4800 meters above sea level.) where we will appreciate most of the western cordillera.

Approximately 13:00 to 13:30, Arrival to Chivay check-in at the hotel

Lunch

15:00 In our transportation we’ll head towards the picturesque village of Coporaque, from where there we’ll begin a hike of about 2 hours to enjoy the nature, and the beautiful landscapes on this side of the valley, as well as a pre-Inca cemetery located close to the base of a mountain.

17:00 After the walk enjoy the hot springs in Calera Medicinal which waters ranging from 35 Celsius to 38 Celsius

20:00 Dinner, accompanied by a folk show.

Day 2: Chivay / Cruz del Condor / Chivay / Arequipa
Continental Breakfast 06:00
06:30 We'll go to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, a strategic point of observation of the canyon and see the spectacular flight of the condors. On our return we will stop in the villages of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque; having beautiful colonial churches, as well as the viewpoints of Choquet and Antahuilque, from where we will observe the impressive terraces in the valley, the tombs and pre-Inca remains. Lunch.

13:00 Return to the city of Arequipa

17:00 to 18:00 hrs. Arrival to the city of Arequipa.
